27 th Annual VAMOS Golf Tournament

On behalf of the VAMOS Board of Directors, we invite you to the 27th Annual VAMOS Golf Tournament, presented by DHR Health. The tournament is scheduled on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at McAllen’s Champion Lakes Golf Course, 2701 S. Ware Road, McAllen, TX 78503. Please join us to help raise scholarship funds for VAMOS Scholars.

Since its inception in 1996, the Annual VAMOS Golf Tournament has been the premier tournament in the Rio Grande Valley. In addition to raising scholarship funds, it also helps raise awareness of the financial need that is prevalent among many high school students in the Rio Grande Valley. Students in the Rio Grande Valley experience hardship year after year as the cost of tuition and related fees exceed a student’s financial aid award. Therefore, VAMOS Scholarships help students reduce some of the financial burdens and allow them to thrive academically and professionally.

Scholarship Opportunities for Students

VAMOS awards four-year renewable scholarships to graduating high school seniors who come from economically disadvantaged families and has awarded over $24 million in scholarships to over 1,100 students in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Starr counties. The graduation rate among VAMOS Scholars is currently 96 percent, and they attend universities locally, across the state of Texas and some out of state.
